Letter from Dr. Rutledge’s Office: Update on Coronavirus March 16, 2020

Greetings,

As you may have been aware, in the past few month’s news of coronavirus, COVID-19, outbreak from China has been rampant. Orange County recently declared a local health emergency in response to this coronavirus.

At RMG, we offer an Intravenous (IV) therapy that helps to boost the immune system, which may then prevent diseases and illnesses. The Immune Boost IV is recommended to strengthen your immune system and works by delivering nutrients directly to your bloodstream to improve your health and reduce inflammation. This may help elderly and immunocompromised.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:

– Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

– Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

– Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

– Stay at home when you are sick.

– Cover your coughs and/or sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

– Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

– If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

We are working with the Orange County Health Department to help you. If you have symptoms: fever, cough and shortness of breath, please contact us at 657-205-0057 for a quick telephonic screening. Remember to mention if you have traveled recently or believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19 patient(s).

It is an honor to walk through this with you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Richard Rutledge, DO and Nicolas Sengdara, FNP
